The Lands Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government (Hong Kong) and the Cartography and Cadastre Bureau of the Macao SAR Government (Macao) signed on 29 Oct 2013 the Memorandum of Understanding for Sharing Satellite Positioning Reference Station Data (MOU). According to the cooperation arrangement in the MOU, Hong Kong will provide Macao the data of the reference stations at Ngong Ping, Mui Wo, Siu Lang Shui and Lam Tei; and Macao will provide Hong Kong the data of the reference stations at Mount Fortress, Taipa Grande and Coloane. Through the cooperation arrangement of sharing the real time data of the other side, Hong Kong and Macao will extend the coverage of their respective satellite positioning reference station data services to the other SAR and complement each other in the relevant services. Satellite positioning technology facilitates accurate and efficient survey and mapping services, which in turn supports the planning, management and construction of various cross border projects.
